Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 will not have dedicated servers

I think by now most PC community have heard or read about the news that Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 will not have dedicated servers and a few other things, we all would come to expect from a FPS title released in 2009. Hell we had most of that stuff in 2001, see my "An FPS Server guide for developers" I wrote back in 2007.
On Saturday's BashandSlash Infinity Ward's community manager joined us to discuss some of the PC features for their up and coming Call of Duty release, Modern Warfare 2.
I would also like to take a moment to say THANK YOU Rob Bowling for coming on the show and giving us some information regarding our platform of choice. Granted it was not the news we wanted to hear but that does not matter. All we wanted at that time was for someone to give us some information about the PC platform. For that I say again Thanks
(next time come with some better news
). Now back on topic.
The podcast that was heard around the world: Bashandslash: 123 pwnt!
Note that there are plenty of big named sites on this list, what IW should be paying very close attention to is all those smaller sites, where the members are much closer and they tend to stick together when deciding to purchase or in this case not purchase a new PC game.
Also note that this list has been sent to Activision but as of this writing we have not received a reply.
The list was generated by the members of our forums from all over the world, thanks guys and gals
Also as of this writing the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 petition has reached over 95K signatures on it. in less then two days!

Rob Bowling, community manager at Infinity Ward was kind enough to join our panel on BASH today. He let us in on the news that IW was taking Modern Warfare in a new direction. The online game on PC has changed. Dedicated servers are out. IW.net is in.
This is a game changer and many of you may not be too happy. I for one will be willing to listen and try it out. It’s all I can do.
For the folks in our community that mod and map, the future does not look as bright as the past.
Thanks to Rob, PST*Joker from mycallofduty.com, Rudedog from fpsadmin.com, Garetjax from codtv.tv, Josh from Planetmedalofhonor.com, MatTks from @weplaycod (Twitter) and weplaycod.com, iBleedv20 at omnilinkit.com and the hordes in our chatroom and ventrilo. Now that you're all caught up, I thought you would all like to see exactly what the current Call of Duty PC community looks like at the moment, when you make a buisness decision that is so far off the mark it's kind of funny (see the youtube video's at the end). Note that Modern Warfare will be released on the PC PS3 and Xbox360 on Nov 10th 2009.

MW2 No delay for PC - YET!
Recently almost all the gaming websites reported that the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 may be delayed. The story that it will not be launched on 10th of November seems to be, well, made up stories. Robert Bowling today tweeted that they are not sure of the delay. They are also as anxious as the PC players and they will let to know all the fans of MW2 soon about this.
Here is what was written of Twitter:
“I know our PC players are anxious for official word. I am as well. I will let you know as soon as I do. I promise.”
So, all PC players, no need to worry about all the not-so-correct news of different websites. Have patience for the latest update on Twitter and do keep commenting.
